Behind every metric, dashboard and data point, there’s a person making it all work.

With The Minds behind the Metrics, we’re introducing the people building and evolving Brand Metrics every day. Same five questions. Different stories.

First up: Customer Solutions Engineer, Georgios Karavasilis.

What’s the story of your career so far?

I relocated from Greece to the UK in 2017 and started my advertising career in Ad Tech support at Johnston Press, later JPI Media and National World.

I began by managing the Ad Stack, then moved into Product Management before joining the monetisation team as Product and Ad Development Manager. It was a challenging role, but one that gave me hands-on experience across the Ad Tech industry and really shaped how I think about products, systems and problem-solving.

What drew you to Brand Metrics?

I actually knew Brand Metrics from my time at National World, where we implemented the product across our sites. That gave me a real sense of both the product and the culture.

When I saw the role, I could genuinely picture myself in it. It felt like the right mix of technical depth, problem-solving and customer collaboration.

What are you excited to bring to the team?

I’m technical, methodical and organised in how I work. Early in my career, I qualified as a Software Developer, which still shapes how I approach challenges today.

My experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript helps me understand problems from the ground up. And honestly, solving problems is what brings me joy. That’s when I’m at my best.

What are you most looking forward to at Brand Metrics?

Becoming deeply familiar with the product and supporting the team by taking on more responsibility. I want to contribute meaningfully and help the company continue to grow.

I’m also looking forward to building strong relationships internally. It already feels like a place where I’ll grow, both professionally and personally.

And who are you outside of work?

Outside work, I’m a dad to two teenagers and a black cat named Lulu.

I try to stay active and get to the gym four to five times a week, but I also appreciate a quiet, homely evening. At the moment, I’m studying for AWS Solutions Architect and Agile Project Management certifications, learning Italian for fun, gaming with my kids and working towards buying my first house in the UK.

Busy, but in a good way!
